An Illinois lawmaker drunkenly drove her car into another vehicle, and then mocked a responding officer’s penis size while he placed her under arrest, police said.

The incident unfolded on Sunday in Ravenswood, a neighborhood located on Chicago’s northside. Police were called around 8:49 p.m. to the 5000 block of North Ashland Avenue, where they encountered two cars with “extensive” damage, according to an incident report cited by WBEZ.

One of the drivers was identified as Samantha Steele, one of three commissioners elected to serve the Cook County Board of Review. She admitted to officers that she drove her car into another vehicle shortly after they arrived on the scene.

According to the incident report, officers then spotted an “open bottle” of red wine on the floor of the passenger side of her car.

“I observed her eyes were bloodshot and glassy,” the report reads. “I also detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her breath as she spoke.”

Officers noted that Steele  — who represents District 2, which includes much of the North Side of Chicago and the northern suburbs area — refused to take a sobriety test. When asked how much she had to drink, she told them: “I want my lawyer and I am not talking to you.”

Steele was then handcuffed and taken to an area hospital, where she received treatment for the injuries she sustained during the crash. During her arrest, she “repeatedly said ‘Is your penis that small’” to an officer on the scene, according to the report.

The first-term commissioner was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol. Her next court appearance is Dec. 27.
