Aberdeen cropped another Scotland player out of an image on their social media to put Nicky Devlin at centre stage. And punters were amused to discover it was a certain Connor Barron given the chop.
Devlin is away with his country for a second straight camp and will be hoping to add to the maiden cap he picked up off the bench against Portugal. Various snaps have been shared from training and Aberdeen tweeted one of Devlin leaning on another player as he stretched, captioned simply ‘On duty.’
The identity of his teammate wasn’t apparent from the image they shared, cropped out completely other than his arm. But the full version image shows Devlin pairing up with his former Pittodrie teammate Barron, who left for Rangers in the summer. Whether intentional or not, only the admin of the club account could tell you, but fans certainly saw the funny side of the chop job. One wrote ‘Made sure that was properly cropped’ while another said ‘Quality cropping admin.’
Barron of course isn’t the most popular player at Aberdeen these days after his exit for rivals Rangers and received a hostile reception at Pittodrie two weeks ago. But Devlin it seems was happy to put former rivalries aside at training as they become teammates again ahead of the Nations League clashes with Croatia and Poland.
