WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – President-elect Donald Trump is rounding out his national security team.
Trump added two more to his national security team, naming his choices for his Secretary of State and Director of National Intelligence
First, Trump confirmed that he wants Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, as his Secretary of State.
Rubio has served on the Senate Foreign Relations, listening to classified testimony about America’s role in the world.
In a statement, Rubio promised to, quote, “deliver peace through strength and always put the interests of Americans and America above all else.”
Trump’s theme of peace through strength was also part of the announcement for Tulsi Gabbard to serve as DNI or director of national intelligence.
Originally a Democrat, Tulsi Gabbard represented Hawaii in the House of Representatives before a brief run for the White House.
She’s also a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and has served in Iraq…however…she’s also been increasingly critical of American foreign policy.
As DNI, Gabbard would oversee 18 intelligence agencies.
Tuesday, he announced he’d picked Fox News host Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, former congressman John Ratcliffe for CIA Director and Representative Mike Waltz of Florida for National Security advisor.
