(Gray News) – Craig Melvin will soon be taking Hoda Kotb’s spot as co-anchor of the “Today” show.

“Today” announced on Thursday Melvin will begin co-anchoring the morning show alongside Savannah Guthrie, starting in January 2025.

The news comes about two months after Kotb announced she was leaving “Today” after co-anchoring the show for more than six years.

Kotb will be saying her goodbyes to the “Today” show audience on Jan. 10 and Melvin will begin his role as co-anchor on Jan. 13.

According to “Today,” Melvin has been with NBC News for nearly 14 years.
