Kerry Katona has confirmed her split from long-term partner and fiancé Ryan Mahoney due to what she called a ‘breach of trust’.
The reality star, 44, and fitness instructor, 36, haven’t had the smoothest ride, but it’s now official: their six-year relationship is over.
Earlier this month, it was thought Kerry and Ryan had split after the Atomic Kitten star said she was ‘single’ in an Instagram comment, however she then explained that was simply a joke.
But now it looks as though things are really over, as Kerry opened up in her OK Magazine column about her ‘really tough week’ .
‘Last week I spoke about how Ryan and I were having a tough time and now he has moved out of the house,’ she said.
‘We are no longer together and it’s been a really tough week – I never in a million years thought this would happen. Without going into too much detail, there has been a breach of trust between us..’
Kerry added that she still loves Ryan, and she’s struggling with this new reality, but equally she’s been through break ups before and came out the other side.
The mum-of-five – who said she’s not been sleeping or eating properly in the wake of the split – also reflected that she’s still working through her own past, including her husband George Kay’s death in 2019.
Elsewhere, Kerry said she was rooting for Coleen Rooney entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle, and updated fans to say her mum was out of hospital.
The pair got engaged in 2020 while they were on holiday in Spain, with Ryan asking her children Lilly, Heidi, Molly, DJ, and Max for their blessing beforehand.
Kerry has previously spoken about some relationship troubles. In the spring of 2024, writing for OK! Magazine, she claimed Ryan wasn’t around when she went through nose surgery.
‘I want to say a massive thank you to my mum, who has been my rock during the last couple of weeks,’ she said.
‘I’ve been staying at hers and she’s really looked after me. If I’m honest, I’ve felt more lonely than ever during my recovery.’
She continued: ‘Ryan was away getting a tattoo in London when I went into hospital and I haven’t seen him since my [nose] surgery over a week ago.
‘That upset me because it made me feel unsupported and I could have done with the emotional support. I’m always the “strong mum” in our house and this week I really wanted to be looked after and have him here.’
Before her relationship with Ryan, Kerry had been married to Kay – who died three years into their marriage.
In 2007, she married Mark Croft, with the couple splitting in 2011. Her first marriage was to Westlife singer Brian McFadden – the pair were wed in 2002 and divorced in 2004.
