A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Edinburgh city centre following a public appeal.

The incident took place on Grassmarket on Thursday, September 26. Police have confirmed that they have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the assault but enquiries are ongoing.

Police appealed to the public for help last week as part of the probe into the assault.

Detective Constable Mark Richmond said: “I’d like to thank those who assisted with our appeal.”
