Man vs Food star Adam Richman had a rollercoaster week of emotions after many of his valuable possessions were stolen.

The 50-year-old US television star took to social media in October, revealing that while working on his latest show, Adam Richman Eats Britain, he and his crew found their van had been broken into and ‘completely cleared out’.

Among the items stolen were the last birthday card he received from his late father and a book from his mother, resulting in an ‘angry and devastated’ Richman. Thankfully, his latest update is nothing but good news and he’s managed to retrieve the items.

Taking to Instagram and X, Richman said that some of the items, which were stolen while his team were at Barnet’s London Gateway Services last month, were found sprawled around a north London park, including his sentimental items.

‘This is blowing my mind right now,’ he told his followers before explaining that while he and his team were wrapping up a day of filming around Tottenham when he got a notification on his phone that his keys were in Muswell Playing Fields.

Immediately making his way over to the fields, Richman was met by a friend who helped him search for the pinging noise of the keys ‘in the pitch black for nearly three hours’. When they were close to giving up and going home, they tried one last thing and managed to ‘catch a signal’.

The TV star’s friend ended up needing to jump a fence but when he did, he turned around and yelled ‘I found your bag’ to Richman. ‘I lost my mind,’ the star said.

Finding keys, a bag, and glasses, the star said he was most concerned about the book his mum had given him. Finally, he finds the book, and inside it, the birthday card from Richman’s dad.

‘I can’t even tell you,’ Richman said overjoyed in his video. ‘I’m gonna cry, I have the card from my dad, I have the book from my mum. After that, everything is great.’

Calling the friend his ‘hero’, the foodie signed off the post by saying: ‘There are bad people about.’ He added: ‘But there are shining lights to be found as well. I found one. There goes my hero.’

The presenter wasn’t the only one happy about the news. Fans were quick to share their excitement for him, with Karen Lee writing, ‘What an uplifting story! Well done!’

While Sarj Mistry wrote: ‘This is just so amazing’, and recalled how one of their friends helped them once. ‘There really are some real-life hero’s out there.’

David Rothery added: ‘So pleased to hear you have the most precious of the stolen possessions back, Adam.  I’m still annoyed for you that this theft happened in the first place. Radu, you are a legend, one of the best.  Take care both of you.’

Richman shot to fame in 2008 when he hosted the Travel Channel show Man vs. Food, which followed him around as he took part in various eating challenges around the world. In the years since, he has starred in Iron Chef America, The Traveler’s Guide to Life, and Best Sandwich in America.
