Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has issued a message to fans as he faces being booted off the show this weekend.

Despite being saved by the judges in last weekend’s dance-off, which saw Shayne Ward exit the show, Wynne is now tipped to be the next contestant to leave. The Welsh singer took to Instagram to update his fans just hours before the upcoming live show.

And Saturday, November 16, marks a significant moment in the 2024 competition as the live show relocates from the BBC studios to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, where Wynne will perform the Charleston.

Even though he’s currently the favourite to be eliminated, the opera star remains upbeat. Wynne shared a picture on Instagram of himself and professional partner Katya Jones sporting colourful glasses that spell ‘Blackpool’.

He wrote: “The magic of strictly is that a total non dancer of my age shape and size can dance with a three time world champion @katyajones at Blackpool tower ballroom and have the best time ever.”

His fans were quick to rally behind him. One supporter commented: “Exactly why you’re so super… for a non dancer to go out and dance like that every week…” reports Wales Online.

Another fan wished him luck, saying: “The very best of luck! Go out on that amazing dance floor and have the most wonderful time.”

A third added: “You absolutely deserve to be there! Looking forward to your Charleston – have fun.”

A fourth fan praised him: “Wynne, you are doing brilliantly, you’ve got our votes.”

Another said: “So glad you’re still in the competition, Wynne. You never fail to entertain me.”

Bookmakers have recently revealed their predictions on who might be next to depart, with Betway‘s spokesperson Mike Reading revealing: “We’re at the halfway point of the series and as the couples pack their bags and head up to Blackpool, the latest odds suggest Wynne Evans might be waltzing his way out of the competition this Sunday.

“Wynne is the odds-on favourite to go this weekend, but he may find a lifeline in Pete Wicks, who comes next in the elimination odds. Pete will need to dazzle the judges with his Cha Cha to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred if he wants to stay in the competition!”

The previous weekend saw singer Shayne Ward exiting stage left after finding himself in the bottom two alongside Wynne.

The panel of judges was torn over who to save, ultimately leaving Shirley Ballas with the final say. Her choice to keep Wynne in the competition didn’t sit well with viewers, leading to Shayne and his dance partner Nancy Xu making an unexpected exit.
