BECKLEY, W. Va. -A West Virginia-based bank chain is celebrating a century of operation next year and kicked off the start of their anniversary celebration Friday.
Pendleton Community Bank got its start in October of 1925 in Franklin, West Virginia, before growing across the Two Virginias. To celebrate their one hundred year milestone, they held an event with refreshments, door prizes, and a “gratitude jar” that let people suggest a nonprofit for the bank to donate one hundred dollars to, with drawings held at each branch.
They also unveiled their new referral program that enters participants into a drawing for the cash equivalent of the bank’s founding year. We asked Karen Ewing, market leader for PCB’s Raleigh & Fayette County locations, what it is that gave the bank a century of success.
“We’re small in number but mighty, and the reason for that is the quality of people that we employee, the products and services that we offer, we are a small independent community bank, but we are very competitive, We have all the technology services that customers want, but we also still really want people to come into our branches…” says Ewing.
This will not be last thing planned for PCB’s one hundred year anniversary celebration. You can find out what else is planned at the Pendleton Community Bank website.
