Waliyha Malik, sister of Zayn Malik, has penned an emotive message in support of her brother following the rescheduling of his tour dates.
The 26-year-old implored people to offer kindness amid Zayn’s mourning of former One Direction member Liam Payne, who sadly died on October 16, after a fall from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Argentina.
In a heartfelt tribute, Waliyha shared a monochrome image showing Liam with his arm around a young Zayn, captioned with: “Give respect to Zayn, you don’t know what he’s going through. Today is a month since his brother has been gone.
“
Her words come as Zayn announced a delay to some tour appearances, citing “unforeseen circumstances” in an Instagram post last Thursday. Originally set to begin on November 20 and 21 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the concerts are shifted to December—with the ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ singer informing his 54 million fans that the slated November 20 show will now take place on December 8, and the following concert planned for November 21 will be moved to December 9.
Zayn has postponed his US tour following the tragic loss of a dear friend and former bandmate, which has led to three arrests in connection with the death investigation. The tour was initially set to begin on October 23 at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, wrapping up in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom on November 3.

The UK leg was expected to start on November 20 at Edinburgh’s O2 Academy and finish on December 4 at Manchester’s O2 Apollo. Zayn announced the postponement on Instagram, stating: “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour. The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Liam’s funeral arrangements are pending after his body was finally returned to the UK following a three-week delay.
His father Geoff travelled to Argentina immediately after his son’s death and stayed until he could accompany his son’s body back to the UK.
