I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! kicked off with a bang on Sunday evening, plunging the 10 celebrities straight into action.
The stars were split with half meeting at a plush villa, only for hosts Ant and Dec to greet them with news of an imminent high-stakes race.
Post-hastily slurping down their ‘welcome’ cocktails made of a stomach-churning blend of bull’s penis, fish eyes, topped with a vomit fruit garnish, they were whisked away by helicopter.
The celebs’ speed in gulping down the gruesome mix decided the pecking order for skydiving out of the chopper and pairing up with one of the other contestants, reports the Express.
Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough made no hesitation after his helicopter leap to team up with Coleen Rooney, exclaiming: “Melvin, I’m so so sorry! Wagatha Christie you’re coming with me!'”
Before long, the audience took to social media in droves, all clamouring for a common outcome.
Tweets began flooding in, with demands for Rebekah Vardy to make a dramatic entrance.
One person said: “Just wait until Rebekah Vardy parachutes in on day 7.”
Another commented: “Surely they’ll airdrop Rebekah Vardy in at some point.”
One speculated: “Rebekah Vardy to join later presumably.”
Someone else tweeted: “I know she’s done it before but a good twist would to be chuck Rebekah Vardy back in!”
“Go on @antanddec throw Rebecca vardy in I dare you,” wrote another
With someone else begging: “@ITV please please please…. Bring in Rebekah Vardy to I’m A Celeb. Your ratings will soar.”
Coleen Rooney, famously known as Wagatha Christie, has joined the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! lineup.
She earned the nickname in 2019 after using her detective skills, reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s novels, to uncover the source of leaked private stories from her social media to the press, which she believed was fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.
Before entering the jungle, Coleen explained why she finally agreed to participate in the show, commenting: “It has been year after year I have been asked to go on a programme and it’s always been a straight no.
“Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life and also, my children have been really young. But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time.”
She expressed her readiness for a new challenge: “I also feel it’s time to have a challenge for me and do something different. It has taken many, many years but I’m finally doing it. And I have always said if I was going to do one then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Continues weeknights on ITV from 9pm.
