The dramatic premiere of I’m A Celebrity saw 10 famous faces tackle a series of daunting challenges to determine the camp’s initial leaders.

The first group included Oti Mabuse, Tulisa Contostavlos, Jane Moore, Danny Jones, and Dean McCullough, while Alan Halsall, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry, Coleen Rooney, and Melvin Odoom formed the second team.

The opening challenge had the first set quaffing a dubious cocktail brimming with repulsive ingredients before dashing to awaiting helicopters.

Following a skydive, the initial group was prompted to pair up with someone from the rival faction, resulting in Danny joining forces with champion boxer Barry.

Ant and Dec welcomed the duo to their trial named ‘The Mausoleum of Misery’ where they were enclosed in separate chambers, striving to unlock five stars each.

Yet, viewers knew twists were inevitable as 15 snakes joined each celebrity in their respective chambers, reports the Mirror.

During the ordeal, Danny’s fearful shout, “I’ve got a snake up my shorts,” ignited laughter from Ant and Dec.

Adding humorous flair, Dec quipped, “That is what’s known here as a trouser snake,” leaving Danny wriggling uncomfortably.

After the trial concluded, it emerged that Danny had snagged all five stars while Barry didnt manage to secure any.

But before he could bask in his triumph, Danny yelped: “Can you get it out of my shorts! “.

An animal expert quickly came on set as Danny unbuttoned his shorts to uncover a massive snake lurking within.

Fortunately, the handler skilfully removed the serpent from Dannys plight and they both headed back to camp.

Speculation is rife that Love Island celeb Maura Higgins and the Rev Richard Coles will be joining the fray as late additions to the show, boosting the campmate tally to 12.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
