Joe Lycett has been spotted for the first time with his newborn following the surprise revelation that he has become a father.

The hugely popular comedian announced on October 25 that he and his partner had welcomed a baby boy.

His joyous news left many scratching their heads, given that the comic is famous for his pranks and stunts, whether it be changing his name to Hugo Boss or threatening to shred £10,000 in cash.

However, we can now rest assured that it’s the real deal, as Joe and his mystery girlfriend were seen on a weekend stroll, baby in tow.

The 36-year-old proved he’s already a doting dad as he carried the little one strapped to his front.

Wrapped up from the cold in a tiny red wool hat, his baby’s head could be seen peeking through the carrier.

Meanwhile, Joe sported casual attire for the walk through a Birmingham village, as he dressed in an oversized black coat and wore a cap.

His partner donned a khaki jacket, black leggings, and trainers, and wore her hair down.

The stand-up star has not revealed any personal details about the mother of his child, nor has the baby’s name been shared publicly.

When announcing the arrival of his firstborn, Joe wrote that he is ‘LOVING being a dad’.

Taking to Instagram, he heaped praise on the hospital who brought their baby son into the world.

‘An appreciation post from me for the extraordinary @bham_womens hospital. My first encounter with them was years ago when they looked after a pal of mine through surgery, and then most recently when they masterfully welcomed a little boy into the world, who happens to be my son,’ he wrote to his 1.4million followers.

‘The care and compassion his mum and he received was exceptional; from the antenatal classes, incredible midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses and the ongoing care in the community. We also loved their baked potatoes.

‘Birmingham is so lucky to have them and I will be forever grateful for everything they’ve done.’

As for his partner, Joe has been famously private when it comes to his love life in the past but has openly shared that he is proudly pansexual.

Speaking on Bimini Bon-Boulash’s podcast The Pieces, he divulged that he’s now off the market.

‘So, I’ve got Winston the cat and my partner Denise,’ he said.

‘And, um, she’s not called Denise, but I don’t talk about her, because she has a job that she can’t be in the public eye.

‘I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so, uh, I live with Denise.’

After his admission sparked debate, Joe later took to social media to clarify his sexual orientation.

The Late Night Lycett host wrote: ‘I’ve seen a lot of misinformation being spread around over the last few days about pansexuality, so I thought I’d explain it properly.’

He added in his light-hearted caption that ‘pansexuality is actually closely linked with the pangolin (made famous as the intermediary host of SARS-CoV2) and is actually nothing to do with gender or any of that woke stuff but mating rituals which are primarily to do with smell and are strictly seasonal.’

The hilarious TV star said that ‘if someone tells you they are pansexual then make sure to look at their nostrils, particularly in late spring, because there’s a good chance they are sniffing around for a mate’.

Joe, known for appearances on the likes of 8 out of 10 Cats and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, has partaken in LGBTQ+ advocacy in various forms throughout his career and frequently uses his queerness as material for his comedy routines.

In 2021, Joe was described by Unicorn magazine as ‘probably the most high-profile pansexual man in Britain today.’
