Emotions were running high on Sunday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, as contestant GK Barry was left visibly upset by some distressing news delivered by Ant and Dec.

Just one day into the new series, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, viewers are already predicting an early exit for GK Barry following her emotional response to a challenge. However, things could potentially worsen as she is now set to face the first solo trial of the series.

The first trial of the series, named Vile Volcano and chosen by public vote, will see GK Barry once again facing her fears. She had previously admitted to viewers that she was scared of everything and wasn’t looking forward to what lay ahead in the jungle.

After her screams and tears during the earlier part of the episode, viewers didn’t hesitate to vote for her for the next task. Upon hearing the upsetting news, she immediately broke down in tears and was comforted by her Loose Women co-star, Jane Moore.

She managed to keep her composure when Ant and Dec announced that she would be tackling the challenge, but after they left the camp, she was seen tearfully asking her new friends about what she would be facing. Jane reassured her that she would be fine as GK, whose real name is Grace, started crying out of fear, reports the Mirror.

Some viewers have been reaching out to the creators of I’m A Celebrity, urging them to alter the show’s dynamic. In previous series, certain celebrities were repeatedly chosen for trials, raising concerns that GK Barry might endure the same relentless selection.

Social media has witnessed fans imploring the show to introduce a rule to prevent one celebrity from being continuously picked for the trials. An exasperated viewer implored: “We beg you, please let this be the year that you finally listen to us and make it so it’s not the same person shouting in every trial every night it’s not actually entertaining!”

Another is calling for diversity in trial selection, saying: “Y’all best not vote GK Barry for every trial like you did Nella Rose.”

One hopes against repetition: “I just hope she won’t be doing every trial, not a scooby who she is,” while another predicts a one-woman show: “GK Barry is going to do every trial, isn’t she?”

As GK Barry faces off with the terrifying creatures and challenges, doubts rise about her staying power in the harsh jungle environment. Her own comments have done nothing to quell speculation about an early exit.

A viewer predicted a brief stint for her, stating: “GK Barry won’t survive 48 hours the rate she’s going.”

With agreement on potential early exits, one said: “Either GK Barry Or Colleen will walk out week one, trust me,” while another added: “GK Barry isn’t gonna last two days.”

Some fans, however, have seen a silver lining, with comments like: “One episode in and GK Barry is already my winner.”

Others expressed amusement at the contestant’s behaviour, tweeting: “GK Barry is tooo funny,” while another keen viewer announced: “GK Barry is my favourite already! Hilarious.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV.
