A New York driver was killed Sunday afternoon when he plowed into several trees after veering off a New Jersey county highway, and then rolled over.
Andrew Slagle, 25, of Westtown, in Schuyler County, was driving along State Route 284 in Wantage Township, N.J. about 2 p.m. when he careened off the road and overturned after slamming into the trees, a state police spokesman told NJ.com.
Slagle was the only one in the car, and no other vehicles were involved, police said. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
Westtown and Wantage lie on either side of the New York-New Jersey border, about 10 miles east of Port Jervis, the junction where both states border Pennsylvania.
