Fans of I’m A Celeb were left in hysterics as hosts Ant and Dec made another dig towards the Wagatha Christie case involving campmate Coleen Rooney and past campmate Rebekah Vardy.
The two WAGs went head to head in court, after Rebekah launched a libel court case against Coleen following her infamous tweet.
In 2019, Coleen took to social media claiming that Rebekah’s Instagram account was responsible for leaking private information to the press from her personal account. The infamous tweet read: “It’s … Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
Geordie duo Ant & Dec started Monday’s edition of the ITV show with another gag referencing the battle, reports the Mirror. Dec said: “Coleen talks about the trial of the century and recovering her legal costs from Rebekah Vardy.”
Ant replied: “And in case you are wondering, that money went straight into… Coleen Rooney’s account.”
Fans were quick to react to the joke on social media. One user on Twitter/X wrote: “If i had a pound for each time ant & dec will mention Rebekah Vardy i’ll have made as much money as Colleen Rooney’s wage for being on this show #imaceleb.”
Another fan believed the pair were “ganging up” on Coleen and sliding with Rebekah on the situation.
Although some fans could not wait for the rest of the series after the joke. As one user admitted: “As if Colleen gives us gossip in day 2, I thought we were going to have to work for the Wagatha Christie drama #ImACeleb,” while another added: “ant and decs wagatha christie jokes are never gonna get boring #imaceleb”
It came to light due to the High Court case between the pair that Caroline Watt, Rebekah’s former agent may have been the one responsible for the stories leaked from Coleen’s private account.
Despite this, after Coleen had shared the post with her millions of online followers, Rebekah became the subject of horrible abuse from social media trolls.
Coleen had previously opened up about the social media abuse, and the toll it had on her mental health, breaking down whilst appearing on Loose Women as she read out the hurtful messages.
During her Disney+ series, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, as she reflected on the abuse Rebekah had faced, Coleen stated: “It was painful watching it.”

Coleen is hoping that her I’m A Celeb experience will allow people to see her as the real her, seeing her as “Coleen from Liverpool”, rather than being just Wayne Rooney’s wife or Wagatha Christie.
Coleen said: “I think I’d rather just be known as Coleen from Liverpool. Not from any other type of place. It’s just me, as I always have been, so hopefully people just think she’s that Scouser that she’s always been.”
