A four-part thriller featuring a Coronation Street icon has landed on Netflix as of yesterday (November 18), and it’s sure to get people talking. The gripping revenge drama titled Cold Call, first broadcast on Channel 5 in 2019, stars Corrie’s Sally Lindsay as single mother June Clarke.
Sally gained fame for her role as Shelley Unwin in the ITV soap from 2001 to 2006, where she was involved in numerous unforgettable storylines and even bagged the Best Actress award at the Inside Soap Awards in 2005.
Cold Call also includes Taj Atwal from BBC’s Death in Paradise and Daniel Ryan, recognisable from ITV’s The Bay. In the 13th season of the popular BBC series, Taj plays Zoe Ainsworth, who confronts DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) at Catherine’s bar.

The plot revolves around June, who falls victim to a cold-call scam that leads to her losing her home. The single mother becomes resolute in tracking down those responsible, resulting in a thrilling revenge narrative as she fights to secure her family’s future.
Five years ago, Sally discussed with Digital Spy how “detailed” the drama was in portraying the world of scamming. She stated: “It’s happening to very, very normal people all the time and we’ve not really seen it on screens.
