Outlander’s Sam Heughan has just dropped hints for fans eagerly anticipating the second half of season seven, which is set to launch shortly.
The hit Scottish series has been on hiatus for over a year, but the continuation of its next-to-last season is just around the corner.
Viewers of the well-loved saga have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return after a midseason finale that saw Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan, alongside Claire Fraser, enacted by Caitriona Balfe, make their longed-for return to their cherished homeland.
Both Sam and Caitriona graced BBC’s The One Show on Tuesday (November 19) to discuss with presenters Alex Jones and Anita Rani what lies ahead for their much-adored personas.
Sam remarked: “So cast your minds back to season seven part a. We finished that with Jamie and Claire returning back to Scotland. It’s Jamie’s ancestral home, delighted to be hear, and not just for the charatcers but for the fans as well.”
“We’ve been anticiapting seeing this and going back to where Jamie was born and raised. There’s a lot of returning characters, a lot of charatcers fans love to hate that you’ll see and then there’s some big drama.”, reports the Express.
“Jamie and Clare really face probably one of the biggest tests of their relationships for many seasons and the finale as well, which is probably one of my favourite finales. It’s really dramatic so there’s so much to look forward to in a couple of days.”
The seventh season of Outlander, which last aired its eighth episode, Turning Point, in August 2023, is set to return with new episodes on Friday (November 22). The show will be available on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and Starz in the US.
Sam and Caitriona are confirmed to reprise their roles as Jamie and Claire, alongside Roger Rankin and Sophie Skelton who will return as Roger MacKenzie and Brianna Fraser.
Joining them will be John Bell as Young Ian, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, and Diarmaid Murtagh as Buck MacKenzie.
Several familiar faces will also make a comeback, including Lotte Verbeek as Geilis Duncan, Graham McTavish as Douglas MacKenzie, Nell Hudson as Laoghaire, Andrew Whipp as Brian Fraser, and Steven Cree as Ian Murray.
However, there will be a change in the cast as Kristin Atherton takes over the role of Jamie’s sister Jenny, previously portrayed by Laura Donnelly.
