Santa and a couple of his trusty reindeers will be stopping off as special guests at a Rutherglen school’s Christmas Fair.
The annual event organised by Calderwood Primary’s parents’ council will be its biggest yet.
It’s always a highly anticipated and well attended day out in the run-up to the festive period, and raises much-needed funds for the school.
Whether you’re shopping for unique presents or for tasty treats for yourself, the Christmas Fair promises something for everyone. There will be handmade jewellery and luxurious beauty products, as well as delicious home baking.
There will also be a raffle, a tombola and the chance for the younger ones to meet Santa in his grotto.
Elaine Miller, chair of the parents’ council, said: “Our fair is always one of the best attended in the Burnside/Rutherglen area and this year we have something extra special, Santa will be joined by two of his reindeer.
“For this reason we are expecting it to be particularly busy. It promises to be a fantastic community event, providing festive fun for all the family.
“With an increase in South Lanarkshire Council cuts we need these events more than ever. All the funds we raise on the day will go back into the school to enhance our children’s learning experience so they can benefit from school trips, essential resources, sports kits and IT equipment.
“The event is run by parent and family volunteers and it’s a super day out that brings the community together for a great cause.”
The Christmas Fair will take place at the school in Buchanan Drive on Saturday, November 30 from 10am to 1pm and admission is free.
