And breathe. Andy Robertson won’t score many more important goals than that as he earned Scotland a dramatic 2-1 win against Poland in Warsaw.

John McGinn followed up his Croatia cracker with a fine opener with both Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay smacking the woodwork in a bright first half. Kamil Piatkowski equalised for Poland as the hour approached with Steve Clarke’s men looking destined for the bottom of the group. But the Liverpool full-back spared the blushes and sent the Tartan Army wild despite his nation narrowly missing out on second place as Croatia drew 1-1 at home to Portugal.

However, the last-gasp victory in Warsaw boosted the Dark Blues’ chances of edging their way into pot two of next month’s World Cup qualifying draw. Scotland are relying on Georgia or Estonia to grab a result away to Czechia and Slovakia respectively on Tuesday evening. But Scotland’s last three results have given them a play-off to look forward to, to retain their League A status. So, when will the play-off draw take place and who could Scotland face?
