BECKLEY, W.Va. – 42-year-old Bryson J. England, of Oak Hill, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Department of Justice.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in February 2024, England was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by law enforcement. During the stop, officers conducted a pat-down search of England, and the Department of Justice said they found a loaded Armscor of the Philippines model M1911-AU FS .45-caliber pistol on England. An AR-15 semiautomatic rifle was also found by officers.
Federal Law says people with a prior felony cannot have a firearm or ammunition. The Department of Justice said England knew he was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of his prior felony conviction for unlawful wounding,
England is scheduled to be sentenced on March 14, 2025, and faces a maximum penalty of 15-years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
