Coffee giants Starbucks have confirmed plans to open in Ayr.
The American franchise have teased the arrival of a new outlet but remained tight-lipped on the finer details.
Bosses today confirmed to Ayrshire Live that they are “looking forward” to expanding their offering in the county.
It’s understood they have shown interest in one of the vacant units at Ayr Central shopping centre.
They currently boast a cafe inside Prestwick ‘s Sainsbury’s supermarket.
But they could now be set to branch into the Ayr shopping mall, which is already home to a Costa Coffee chain.
A spokesperson for Starbucks said: “We’re looking forward to bringing the Starbucks experience to customers in Ayr and will be in touch once we have more specific plans to share.”
Founded in 1971 by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker in Seattle, Washington, Starbucks was initially a coffee bean wholesaler before expanding into the coffeehouse chain it is today.
