It seems as though a former Strictly Come Dancing favourite is less than thrilled with the most recent dance-off result, sharing their frank views on the matter. On Sunday evening’s episode, BBC fans saw Montell Douglas and Wynne Evans face the tense dance-off.

Following their second performances, the judges had to decide who deserved to remain in the contest. The verdict was unanimous, with all judges choosing to keep Montell in the competition.

Nonetheless, past series professional Ola Jordan didn’t think Montell belonged in the dance-off at all. Collaborating with Mecca Bingo, she expressed her candid opinion on the events and singled out whom she feels is lagging behind in the series.

Responding to whether Wynne and Montell deserved to be in the bottom, she said: “No, because Pete is the worst dancer, but at the same time, people vote for who they vote for, and I think as long as the leaderboard is right then people can vote for whoever they want.”

She added, “I can’t say that Pete doesn’t deserve to be in the competition because if people vote for Pete, it’s fair enough. For the bottom two, yes, Wynne was worse than Montell, and Wynne should have gone home. Montell was definitely better overall, so it was the right decision, that’s for sure.”

The Blackpool Tower Ballroom show saw Pete earning the lowest score on the leaderboard with 27 points, reports the Express.

The moment his name was called out as safe for another week, the astonishment was plain to see on his face, while his dance partner Jowita Przysta covered her mouth in sheer disbelief. He later admitted that he had braced himself for the dance-off, with Jowita disclosing they had even prepared a farewell speech in anticipation of their departure.

Chatting with Claudia Winkleman, he commented: “I cannot believe that we’re still here! I cannot believe it. I can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us, I honestly don’t know what to say.”

Yet, Ola has voiced concerns that the TOWIE celebrity might find himself in hot water this coming weekend.

She remarked: “I think people are realising that he was really bad this week, so it will get to the point where people are going to get bored of all this gyrating of his hips, and it will get to the point.

“I don’t know if it’s next week, depending on what he’s doing, if he does a really good lovely number, I feel he’s going to go because people will think he doesn’t need the votes anymore, so maybe that’s what’s going to happen. I think it’s his time to be in the bottom two. If he finds himself in the bottom two, he’s going to go because he is definitely the weakest dancer compared to everyone else.”

Upon his departure from the show on Sunday night, Wynne was full of compliments, stating: “It’s been wonderful, I’ve got to say.

“I feel like it’s what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time.

“Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 7:05pm.
