AUSTIN, Texas — Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means one of the biggest holiday traditions: the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This year, some lucky Austin high school students will take a trip to New York City to perform in the parade.
One of the members of Bowie High School’s Silver Stars dance troupe said she is excited for the opportunity.
“It’s going to be so fun, so fulfilling. New York at Christmastime is such a magical and cool place,” McKenna Mulig said. “Being able to say I was in the Thanksgiving Day parade is going to be something I will be able to say for the rest of my life.”
This isn’t the first time the Silver Stars will perform in the parade. KVUE caught up with the group in 2018 when that year’s officers traveled to NYC for the big event.
This year’s Silver Stars will leave Austin for NYC on Saturday.
