A car thief nearly hit a man while driving the stolen vehicle.
Stuart Mitchell, 34, appeared from custody at Airdrie Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted stealing keys from a house in Loch Awe Place, Coatbridge, on December 20 and driving off in the householder’s car.
Mitchell also admitted driving the vehicle dangerously in nearby Coulter Avenue, causing a pedestrian to take evasive action to avoid being hit.
The court heard Mitchell had no driving licence and no insurance cover.
Sheriff Joseph Hughes deferred sentence to allow him to be assessed for a drug treatment and testing order.
Mitchell, who had been held in custody, was allowed bail and must return to court in January.
