The Giving Tree is back at Livingston Designer Outlet once again as it prepares for another successful year of support.

Until 18th December, guests visiting the retail outlet are encouraged to buy and donate a gift to the West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network’s North Pole Project, which aims to collect hundreds of Christmas boxes to ensure that children or teenagers who live locally will wake up to a gift on Christmas Day.

Livingston Designer Outlet is urging locals to support the worthwhile cause which is taking place for the fourth consecutive year. This year, the support and help from local people and businesses has never been more vital.

The charity has seen an increase in requests for its support services and as we approach Christmas the charity has never been in greater demand. Last year, the Giving Tree made a huge impact by providing gifts to over 1,000 families, thanks to the incredible generosity of the local community.

Now in its fourth year, the success of the campaign depends on the ongoing support of individuals and businesses in the area, which is especially crucial this holiday season.

The charity has seen an increase in requests for its support services as it approaches the festive period, so support and help from local people and businesses has never been more vital.

The Christmas Giving Tree is located at Guest Services on the ground floor. Gifts range from items such as t-shirts, jackets, pyjamas, socks, hats, crafts, books, sweets, toiletries or small toys.

Kylie Wilson, marketing manager at Livingston Designer Outlet said: “We are very aware that every little helps at Christmas and that has never been more apparent than now. With so many day-to-day financial pressures on families and the added costs of Christmas, some children and families simply cannot provide even the smallest items that can mean so much. There is a growing number of families in need on our doorstep and we want to continue supporting the West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network again this Christmas. No child or family should go without, especially at Christmas and we are urging our guests to buy a little extra something while Christmas shopping with us and add to one of the Christmas boxes.”

Sheila Jamieson, trustee chairman of West Lothian Financial Inclusion Service said: “We are extremely grateful for each and every donation. Last year, the amazing donations from Livingston Designer Outlet made a huge difference to the number of Christmas shoeboxes we were able to share with West Lothian families.”
