Maura Higgins is set to make her first appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! this Thursday, and she’s been given a major advantage.
The Love Island star will join the camp alongside Reverend Richard Coles. She’s now surpassed McFly’s Danny Jones in the odds to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle 2024.
Despite Loose Women panelist GK Barry spending much of her time crying after a disastrous trial with radio host Dean McCullough, she’s currently third in the odds.
Data from FruitySlots.com suggests Maura has a whopping 29% chance of winning, with Danny Jones trailing behind at 17%, and GK, whose real name is Grace, at 14%, reports the Express.
“Over the years, I’m A Celebrity and reality stars have been a perfect match, with Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson recently winning the jungle crown. Now, our Supercomputer suggests that a former Love Island star might be next in line,” a spokesperson for FruitySlots.com stated.
“Maura Higgins, already a fan favourite from Love Island, is projected to go far this season. But with strong competition from McFly’s Danny Jones and TikTok sensation GK Barry, it’s no easy journey ahead. As the celebrities still face two more weeks of camp life and notorious Bushtucker Trials, the race is wide open. Only time will tell who has the resilience and determination to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle this season.”
Coleen Rooney might be the highest-earning celebrity in the latest series, yet she finds herself in sixth place to bag the win, following her captivating involvement in the Wagatha Christie saga two years back.
Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and Loose Women’s Jane Moore are seen as likely candidates for an early departure, with predictions placing them at the bottom of the list for potential victors of the competition.
The Ant and Dec-led series returned on Sunday evening and BBC Radio 1’s Dean has already blurted out the iconic phrase “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” during his trial that involved him confined in a sarcophagus, answering Egypt-themed questions put forth by the hosts.
There have been plenty of emotions as the campmates have been sharing personal stories, including boxing icon Barry McGuigan speaking about his daughter Danika’s death and Oti sharing details of her brother’s suicide.
The camp has also experienced its share of hilarity, incluiding the moment the campmates sang a ditty about their scant bean and rice diet, which is all they have as they struggle to secure the full roster of stars in the notorious Bushtucker trials.
