I’m A Celebrity’s Dean McCullough has been voted by the public to take on tonight’s Bushtucker trial, the Lethal Lab, in this evening’s episode.
After enduring a measly meal of rice and beans, the celebrities are eager for a good star haul, but the task ahead looks tough for Dean as he appears to snap at hosts Ant and Dec during the intense and revolting challenge.
A preview of the episode reveals the Irish presenter panicking as he confronts multiple containment areas with his face encased in a box, striving to secure as many stars as possible using only his mouth and tongue, while swarms of creepy crawlies, worms, and cockroaches are heaped upon him, the Mirror reports.
Amid the stress, Dean is shown losing patience with Ant and Dec’s quips, shouting, “Don’t tell me anything. Don’t tell me,” when Dec hints at what ‘insect friends’ he’ll be sharing space with.
This development follows 32-year-old Dean’s harrowing quit from Tuesday night’s Bushtucker trial mere minutes into the ordeal. The stark contrast came a day after GK Barry nearly got full stars on trial, bringing relief to the hungry campmates.
However, for Dean on Tuesday evening, the challenge titled The Sinister Sarcophagus proved too much as Ant and Dec informed him that he would be confined within a sarcophagus-shaped figure throughout the trial, facing a string of questions about Egypt.

For every correct answer, a star was to be lowered down for him to release solely with his mouth, all within a tight 30-second timeframe. Dean had acknowledged it was his “worst nightmare” after having previously expressed fears of being buried or encased in a coffin.
Soon enough, Dean was locked in alongside sand, giant mealworms, and crickets. Starting strong, he correctly answered two questions and secured two stars.
However, the pressure mounted and he let out the iconic exclamation: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! ” Consequently, the trial ended abruptly, and Dean exited the effigy, with Ant and Dec confirming only two stars were earned for the camp, ensuring a meagre meal.
Post-trial, Ant expressed disappointment over Dean quitting what he considered one of the most straightforward challenges in I’m A Celebrity’s history.
On I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, hosts Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson, and Kemi Rogers heard from Ant and Dec who shared their letdown at the truncated trial. Dec detailed, “We are genuinely disappointed because you are prepared to do the whole trial and you want to see the whole thing. There’s a lot of time gone into the trials so when it’s called early your like, ‘oh’.”
Ant chimed in that they continued asking Dean questions post-trial simply because they found it such an enjoyable challenge.
When quizzed about whether the crew felt let down by Dean’s early withdrawal from the trail, Ant confessed: “They just want to see it done properly. Even in the past when we’ve had people not go through with it we’ve sometime bought the trials back because we want them to be seen.”
