The ITV hit show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has returned as ten celebrities were greeted by the rugged terrain of the Australian jungle on Sunday evening.

Since their arrival, viewers have seen nail-biting challenges, emotional moments and abundant humour.

Tulisa Contostavlos and Alan Halsall outpaced their fellow campmates in the first challenge of the series, earning them the titles of the initial camp leaders.

Their new roles mean they are tasked with assigning duties to the other celebs while refraining from any manual work themselves.

Despite her leadership position, Tulisa seems to be champing at the bit to take on cooking duties in camp – a sentiment that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the audience.

This week saw Tulisa’s pal Michelle McKenna guesting on Lorraine to discuss the singer’s experiences so far, reports the Express.

When quizzed about how Tulisa would cope with trials, McKenna remarked: “Well, she’s not done a critter trial yet so I’m dying to see her with spiders, I know personally how scared she is of spiders.”

Entertainment correspondent Lucie Cave pointed out that Tulisa had strategically omitted her fear of spiders from her pre-jungle video package, presumably to avoid being an easy target for critter-filled trials.

To which Michelle jovially admitted: “I’m probably a bad mate for saying that now aren’t I?!”

As it stands, bookmakers currently have Tulisa pegged as the second favourite to be crowned queen of the jungle, with Ladbrokes placing her at tempting 4/1 odds.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati noted: “Danny’s led the way in the betting up to this point, but the latest odds suggest Maura could be a serious threat in the race for this year’s jungle crown.”

While Tulisa has yet to be chosen for any trials, radio personality Dean McCullough has been selected multiple times.

This week, he became the first celebrity this year to utter the notorious phrase ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’ after finding a challenge too overwhelming.

However, he did succeed in securing two stars for his camp, seven fewer than what GK Barry had managed to gather the previous day. On Wednesday night, the public chose GK and Dean to undertake a trial together, but things didn’t proceed as expected.

Both celebrities were confined in a tank, with Dean positioned above Grace. As water filled the tank, Dean had to insert his hands into holes filled with creepy crawlies and retrieve golden keys.

Once he collected them, he had to pass them to Grace through a chute, but it proved more difficult than anticipated as the Loose Women star struggled to catch the keys.

After she finally caught the keys, the 25-year-old had to dive underwater and insert the correct key into a series of padlocks to earn a star for the camp.

Despite her best efforts, while animals swam around her, GK couldn’t locate the correct lock and the duo failed to bring back any stars to camp.

On Thursday night, it was announced that Dean has been chosen once again to face another trial, will he fare better this time?

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs weeknights on ITV from 9pm.

Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV from 9am
