Lidl GB has issued a recall for its Meadow Fresh Potato Salads due to the potential presence of copper pieces, rendering the product unsafe for consumption.

The supermarket has advised customers who have purchased this item not to consume it and return it to their nearest store for a full refund.

Lidl has extended an apology for any inconvenience caused to its customers.

The Food Standards Agency warned: “These products may contain pieces of copper which makes them unsafe to eat.”

“If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”

In related news, Tesco has recalled its Tzatziki Dip after salmonella was detected during routine testing. Symptoms of salmonella typically include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Tesco advised: “If you have purchased any of the affected date codes of the above product, please do not eat it.”

The batch in question has a use-by date of November 24, 2024.

Shoppers are encouraged to return the product to any supermarket for a complete refund, with no need for a receipt.

Tesco has confirmed that this issue does not affect any other products.
