A woman has been hospitalised after an rush-hour incident on a busy stretch of a Scots motorway.
At around 8.39am, emergency service personnel raced to an incident near Junction 10 on the M8 Eastbound near Easterhouse, Glasgow. Several Scottish Ambulance Service units attended the scene, including a trauma team, as Police Scotland officers closed the carriageway in both directions.
As a result of the incident, a female was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A Scottish Ambulance Service Spokesperson said: “We received a call at 0839 hours today to attend an incident on the M8. We dispatched a number of resources to the scene, including our trauma team, and transported a female patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
Drivers were warned to avoid the area as both westbound and eastbound carriageways were closed.
A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said at the time: “The M8 eastbound at junction 11 near to Easterhouse is closed following a report of concern for a person which was reported to police around 8.35am on Thursday, 21 November, 2024. Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible.”
However, both carriageways have now reopened, according to the most recent update by Traffic Scotland.
