Craig Rowe had his work cut out for him as he was given the task of finding the perfect holiday home in Southern Tenerife for a couple during the latest instalment of A Place in the Sun.
In Friday’s episode (November 22) of the much-loved Channel 4 show, Craig was on a mission to help Bridget and Rob realise their long-standing dream of owning a sunny getaway property.
The couple have dedicated their lives to their careers, raising their own children and fostering many others. Now, they’re eager to treat themselves by securing a property where they can enjoy relaxing breaks and soak up plenty of winter sun.
Armed with a budget of £160,000, they were on the hunt for a property with at least two bedrooms located in a peaceful area, but it was crucial that it was near local attractions or had easy access to public transport as they don’t intend to bring their car.
The duo weren’t interested in a renovation project, so they insisted on a property that was fully finished with minimal changes required, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Craig pulled out all the stops and arranged several property viewings, but things didn’t get off to a great start as the host had to ‘move on’ after the couple identified a significant problem.
The property in question was a one-bedroom second-floor flat with a single bathroom that had only been on the market for three months. It boasted an open-plan kitchen and living space and was just a ten-minute stroll from the beach, shopping centre and bus station.
Upon stepping into the house, the couple immediately noticed their front view balcony faced a congested road.
Bridget remarked: “The outside looks nice but it is just so busy so I’m not sure about that. I wouldn’t say this is the dream.”
Rob then highlighted: “The downside is the balcony overlooking the main road and there is a lot of noise so it’s put us off.”
Realising the fit wasnt right, Craig enquired: “Having said all that, would you like to see the rest of this or are we drawing a line under this? “.
“I think we’ll draw a line.” conceded Bridget, prompting Craigs response: “Moving on then I think I’ll need to find you somewhere with a bit of peace and quiet.”
Eventually, Craig confessed his ‘disappointment’ as the pair passed on all the houses they saw, but he remained hopeful as they assured him theyll return for more viewings.
