If you’re in the market for a new controller or even a new console for the New Year, Sony might just have a plethora of deals for you to delve into.
Beginning today and lasting until December 12, Sony is slashing prices on consoles, controllers and more accessories. You can save £65 on PS5 consoles as well as £20 off spare controllers. But despite Sony launching its Black Friday deals, other retailers are also offering their own PS5 deals, with some being cheaper even cheaper, particularly on Amazon.
For the first time ever, Sony has reduced the price of the DualSense Edge for fans who love to go all-out on their controller customisation, down from £209 to £189.
And for VR enthusiasts, you can save up to £220 on PSVR 2 from today until January 2 – if you need a little bit more time to save your pennies. But our top pick are the cheaper DualSense controllers which are currently going for £49 – including the new Chroma controllers so if you’ve just bought a PS5, you can get a spare controller for a bargain.
For those wanting a new pair of headphones to accompany their console, Sony is also offering its Elite Pulse headset for £109 and the standard Pulse headset for £69.99.
Meanwhile Amazon has price-matched some products – or even outdoing Sony in some respects. For example, you can get the DualSense Edge for £179.99 which is cheaper than Sony, reports Birmingham Live.
It also offers controllers for £40, which is cheaper than Sony’s price, so it might be worth checking Amazon before deciding to shop on Sony’s website. Amazon is also retailing the PSVR 2 for £339, undercutting Sony by another £10.
However, if you’re a PS Plus member, you benefit from free shipping, whereas non-Prime members will have to pay extra, making a return to Sony potentially more sensible. With free delivery offered to Amazon Prime members, it could be more cost-effective to check prices as we approach the festive season.
