BLUEFIELD, VA. – An annual holiday tradition returns to the town of Bluefield, VA.
Saturday, November 23rd, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place in Jack Asbury Square.
The event starts at 4 PM, with the Christmas tree lighting scheduled for 5:45 PM.
Activities include snow globe selfies, an ice-skating rink, a snowball-throwing contest, carnival games, and live entertainment.
Local churches and organizations are collaborating to create a “Little Town of Bethlehem” display in the farmer’s market area.
We spoke with Andrew Hanson town manager who says it’s a great time to come together to enjoy the holiday.
He says, “It would be a great opportunity for fellowship and friendship, and to enjoy the town. Beautiful lights, beautiful scenery, lots of activities, and this is just the start for Bluefield, Virginia. Then that will roll into the Festival of Lights in Bluefield, West Virginia. We have a lot of fun activities and opportunities for people to enjoy the town.”
The celebration continues with a Christmas parade on December 12th. For more information, visit the town’s website.
