BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Department of Justice announced that an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Beckley was sentenced for having a weapon.
According to court documents and court statements, in June 2023, a staff member at the Institution conducted a pat-down search of 28-year-old Jonathan Webb and found a weapon often called a “shank.”
Webb admitted to having the weapon, and said he planned on using it as a weapon, according to the DOJ.
Webb was sentenced to one year in prison, to run consecutively to his undischarged term of incarceration, and to be followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of a weapon by an inmate at a federal prison.
