I’m A Celebrity fans have picked up on another contestant seemingly bending the show’s stringent rules – yet it seems to have slipped past ITV chiefs.
Eagle-eyed fans on social media observed an “E” inscribed on GK Barry’s nail, speculated to be a reference towards her girlfriend’s name.
Participants in the celebrity jungle are strictly forbidden from establishing any outside contact while on the programme, which includes refraining from sending out affectionate signals to their loved ones in front of the cameras.
However, the audience is convinced the white-marked “E” on Grace’s digit is in tribute to her partner, Ipswich Town football professional Ella Rutherford, the Mirror reports.
One eagle-eyed viewer posted on Twitter: “Has anyone else noticed Grace’s tiny little ‘E’ that she holds up to can for Ella? Subtle and smart work GK Barry! ”
GK had previously kept her relationship under wraps until a birthday post for Ella on Instagram in August confirmed their connection with the caption: “Happy Birthday babe I love you more and more everyday.”
Moreover, during her appearance on Young Filly’s podcast, GK was forthright about her transition towards romantic preferences, asserting: “I feel like I went very wrong with men. I don’t like men anymore. I will never go back to a man. God forbid.
“Yeah, I just love it. I just love it. I feel like I’ve got spring in my step. I feel like I’m glowing. It’s the lesbian glow. I’ve got it. And yeah, that’s my life update.”

During Tuesday evening’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, GK opened up to her campmates by the campfire about her personal life. Dean asked GK how she came to terms with her sexuality, prompting her to share: “Obviously online I’d been like I’d slept with girls or whatever as well, but I’d only dated men.”
She then recounted the story of how she met Ella, saying it was all quite serendipitous through a mutual friend, despite having only dated men before.
GK mentioned casually to her parents about hanging out with her friend Ella so that when they finally asked who this Ella was during a visit, she candidly admitted: “Oh. she’s my girlfriend.”
She was relieved and happy to report that her parents immediately accepted Ella: “They just love her, they never had an issue with it.”
With humour, GK joked about possibly having a ‘glass closet’, and elaborated on her family’s inclusivity: “They’ve always said whoever you end up with we do not care, boy or girl we don’t care, as long as they’re not a d*ck.”
Jane chimed in supportively, reinforcing every parent’s wish: “All you ever want is for your kids to be happy, it doesn’t matter who it’s with.” In a similar vein to GK’s covert message to Ella, previous series have seen other campmates attempt to communicate with their loved ones while on camera.
Marvin Humes was often spotted touching his heart with his right fist when on camera – fans interpreted this as a loving gesture towards his wife, Rochelle Humes, and their children.
EastEnders actress Danielle Harold was noticed touching the brim of her hat during live broadcasts, while I’m a Celeb enthusiasts speculated that social media influencer Nella Rose was sending a secret message by covering her mouth with her hand whenever Ant and Dec mentioned her name.
