I’m A Celebrity fans were fuming and threatened to switch off the show on Sunday evening.
This Sunday’s episode, presented by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, brought viewers up-to-speed with the past day’s antics in the jungle, featuring Dean and Coleen tackling the newest trial. In addition, viewers got to see another Deals on Wheels challenge, whilst Coleen divulged details about her and hubby Wayne Rooney’s unexpected encounter with Donald Trump.
Yet, the mood soured amongst loyal viewers when it was unveiled that Dean was once again selected for a trial. When Ant and Dec visited the camp to announce the next contender for the challenge, the choice of Dean was predictably met without surprise.
Disgruntled viewers took to social media to express their vexation, with one fan posting: “At which point do the producers stop someone getting voted from doing trials every day in a row like this can’t last until the end … #ImACeleb,” as another voiced their displeasure with: “FFS STOP VOTING FOR DEAN ITS GETTING BORING NOW! #ImACeleb.”
Another exasperated viewer suggested: “Do you think if we all just stop watching Dean one night, that they’ll finally get the point? #ImACeleb.”, reports the Express. While a fourth chimed in: “So bored of Dean doing the trials and getting all the camera time now.. he’s not entertaining #ImACeleb.”
A quip from a fifth viewer was shared: “Show to be renamed to ‘Dean is a celeb get everyone else out of here’ #imaceleb,” followed by a sixth, who wrote: “Is this a fix because it gets a reaction on social media? Really beyond boring. Such a great cast, and all we see is Dean. What a shame #imacelebrity2024 #imaceleb.”
Earlier this evening, Coleen and Dean faced the daunting Absolute Carnage trial, which involved Coleen being trapped in the rear of a car surrounded by stars that needed to be unlocked using tools located at the front.
In her compartment, Coleen was accompanied by an array of critters including cockroaches, crickets, giant mealworms, and rats, while Dean was doused with fish guts as he rummaged for the necessary tools to assist Coleen.
With a 12-minute time limit, they managed to secure nine stars for the camp. Post-trial, Ant and Dec commended Coleen, saying: “You were very calm, very quiet, you just got on with it.”
Her response was: “Yeah that is my way of coping, silence, the silent treatment,” while Dean shared his sense of achievement over conquering his aversion to fish guts, especially after previously quitting a trial when fish guts were dumped on him.
