A viral post about making a cup of tea using an air fryer has left people in stitches.
The post on X, which has been viewed more than 75,000 times, humorously explains how to make your morning brew without touching your kettle.
“Just made a cup of tea in the air fryer,” the user said. “10 mins to boil the water at 200C. Then add a tea bag and a splash of milk (sugar optional). Pop back in for a further two mins at 180X until golden in colour.”
They ended their post by saying it “tastes amazing” and shared a picture of a cuppa in an air fryer. The image, previously shared online, cheekily includes the kettle in the frame too.
It’s important to note that this is clearly a joke, and you should not heat up liquids in your air fryer. The hot air can cause liquids to splatter, which is both dangerous and messy, while steam can actually damage the appliance. Moreover, damaging your air fryer by putting liquids in it could void your warranty, as it is considered misuse.
Responding to the post, other X users humorously revealed how they (don’t really) make cups of tea using other kitchen appliances. One joked: “Probably make mine in the slow cooker, should be ready in 12 hours or so.”
Another quipped: “I usually make mine by turning the toaster on and putting my mug of water on top of the toaster. It takes about 45 to make a drink but it always tastes good.”
Some suggested that the joke in the post might not translate well for our American friends. One individual asked: “Is this for the Americans?” And another chimed in with: “This is brilliant. Hordes of angry Brits incoming…. and Americans who don’t see the problem.”
