I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! celebrated a special moment in Monday’s episode as one of the campmates marked their birthday.
The latest instalment saw a joyous occasion in the jungle with Maura Higgins celebrating her 34th birthday. Upon waking up to her jungle birthday, she mused: “Birthday in the jungle! This is definitely going to be one I will never, ever forget.”
Fans on Twitter, now X, were left stunned by Maura’s age revelation, showering her with compliments for her youthful appearance and expressing surprise that she wasn’t still in her 20s.
One viewer exclaimed: “Would never have thought Maura was 34. She looks much younger. #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity”, while another tweeted in disbelief: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAURA IS 34? ! Maura entered the I’m A Celebrity camp recently alongside Reverend Richard Coles as late arrivals. They have now joined Loose Women’s Jane Moore, TV star Coleen Rooney, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, professional dancer Oti Mabuse, radio host Dean McCullough, N-Dubz’s Tulisa Contostavlos, boxing icon Barry McGuigan, McFly’s Danny Jones, DJ Melvin Odoom, and TikTok star GK Barry in the jungle.
Maura, famed for her stint on Love Island’s fifth series in 2019, spoke to The Mirror before venturing into the jungle, where she reflected: “It’s been five years [since Love Island] and I think I’ve matured, but I still have a potty mouth.”
She continued: “I’m still the same kind of girl but I’m not going to go in and annihilate anyone. However, if someone gets on my nerves, I’m not really one to hold it in.
“I do speak my mind. If someone patronises me, I get really irritated. Like, that’s one thing that really drives me mad.”
