Club Brugge striker Christos Tzolis is already planning his goal celebration before facing Celtic as he pledged to unleash the Sirtaki at Parkhead.
The Hoops face the Belgians in their fifth game in the Champions League with the Scottish Premiership leaders going in as favourites to secure a third victory in the revamped format – and take another big step towards the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition. But Tzolis, who scored four goals at the weekend in a 7-0 mauling of Sint-Truidense is planning to put a dent in Brendan Rodgers‘ hopes of progression – and plans to perform the famous Greek dance if he finds the net.
He explained: “I didn’t want to do the Sirtaki dance in the last game because it wasn’t the right occasion. But I will promise now if I score at Celtic I will do it.
“Our full focus is now on Celtic Park. We don’t have to be afraid of anyone in Europe. We’ve already proven that this season.
“Of course I’ve heard that the atmosphere at Celtic is fantastic. It’s going to be a tough away match, with fierce and passionate fans, but we just want to do our thing.
“Our last game was a performance to be proud of. For me personally, it’s an evening I will never forget. We know what we have to do in Glasgow.
“If we just play our own game, I believe anything is possible with this team. I am in a good place at the moment and I want to continue that in the Champions League.”
