(CNN) – Disney is agreeing to pay $43 million to settle a gender-pay lawsuit.
The case involves nearly 9,000 women who claimed they received lower wages compared to their male counterparts.
The worker who started the lawsuit said she did so after learning about a $20,000 pay gap with a less experienced colleague with the same title.
Disney didn’t admit fault but said it is committed to paying workers fairly.
A judge still needs to approve the settlement, but it could reshape how Disney pays employees in the future.
