A different fan threw in their two cents, suggesting: “Hoping it doesn’t spoil everything from start to finish just like the official trailer of season 1 did to the point it turns more into a recap.”

And another added their musings: “They also hinted at the carousel game at the end of the backrooms style teaser. Seems like they are really proud of it lol.”

The teaser trailer for season two was unveiled in October, offering a glimpse of character Seong as he strives to disrupt the game’s dark operations from within.

The protagonist is depicted infiltrating the game again, determined to incite insurrection against its enigmatic founders.

The summary for the second season discloses: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 forsakes his trip to the states, returning instead with a new resolve.

“Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.”

Season one of the smash sensation tracked Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) as he was dragged into a lethal contest along with 455 others, all contending for a giant cash sum of 45.6 billion won.

Launched back in 2021, this means enthusiasts have been on tenterhooks for a full three years to see what unfolds next.

The inaugural series clinched the title of Netflix’s most-watched series of the year and topped viewership charts across 94 nations.

Pulling in over 142 million member households and amassing 1.65 billion hours watched within just the first four weeks, it eclipsed Bridgerton to become the streaming juggernaut’s most popular offering.

Squid Game season two airs on Netflix on December 26.
