COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Ticket prices for the revived rivalry game Saturday set records.

The Texas Longhorns are taking on the Texas A&M Aggies in a renewed rivalry game that hasn’t been played for 12 years. According to ticket vendor TickPick, the matchup is now the most expensive regular season game.

The average purchase price is $1,079 per ticket for the game set for College Station. The record applies to college football and NFL games. The previous record for ticket prices in the regular season was the Buccaneers visiting the New England Patriots in 2021. It was Tom Brady’s first game in Gillette Stadium after leaving the Pats in 2019. The tickets went for an average of $912.

Preferred reseller Seat Geek shows seats on the 45-yard line in the first rows at $2,500 and higher. The top upper bowl seats were listed for $550 and higher.

TickPick Head of Content Kyle Zorn pointed out that it would be $140 to attend the remaining four Dallas Cowboys games this season.

The storied rivalry between the Longhorns and Aggies started in 1894. The last game played was in 2011 before Texas A&M left the Big 12 Conference to join the Southeastern Conference.

The Texas Longhorns lead the all-time rivalry series at 76-37-5.
