(TMX) – A woman is facing charges for allegedly punching a Santa Claus for blocking her view at a Christmas parade in Ontario on Saturday, police said.
The St. Thomas Police Service said the dispute occurred between spectators at the 38th annual Santa Claus Parade Saturday evening in St. Thomas, about 115 miles northeast of Detroit.
A 62-year-old woman, who was not named by police, allegedly got into a dispute with a fellow spectator dressed as Santa Claus for allegedly blocking her family’s view of the parade.
“The suspect struck the victim in the face, knocking them to the ground,” police said.
The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters before being released with a future court date.
This year’s parade, sponsored by the Optimist Club of St. Thomas, had a theme of “Christmas at the Circus.”
