A baking guru has revealed a brilliant air fryer hack for creating scrumptious doughnuts in mere minutes. Air fryers have seen a surge in popularity in recent years, with many opting for these convenient kitchen gadgets over traditional convection ovens.
They can also be more efficient and economical, especially when cooking for a small number of people. If you’re a fan of baked goodies like doughnuts, this trick is just the ticket.
The baking whizz shared their favourite recipe for making doughnuts in an air fryer, a process that takes only five minutes – typically, homemade doughnuts would require deep frying, so this is a fantastic alternative for those looking to reduce oil usage in their cooking, and it calls for just four ingredients.
Candice Bannister from Candy’s Cupcakes, the expert behind the hack, shared her four-ingredient recipe, suggesting the use of pre-made dough to save time. However, make sure the pre-made dough you buy is appropriate for doughnuts, reports the Mirror.
The only other ingredients you’ll need are 50g icing sugar, two tablespoons of melted butter, and two tablespoons of Biscoff spread. Start by preheating your air fryer to 190 degrees Celsius. While it’s heating up, you can begin preparing your dough – divide it into small, evenly sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
Once you’ve divided the dough, flatten each piece and cut a small hole in the centre – a small lid will work if you don’t have a specific tool. Next, arrange them in your air fryer, ensuring there’s enough space between each doughnut and they’re laid out in a single layer.
They’ll require just four to five minutes to cook, but don’t forget to flip them halfway through to achieve a lovely golden brown colour on both sides. While they’re cooking, soften your Biscoff spread in the microwave – it should be smooth by the time it’s ready.
Take your doughnuts out of the air fryer, dip them into the spread, dust with icing sugar, and there you have it.
