Bluefield Union Mission continues their Thanksgiving tradition

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -The Bluefield Union Mission has been providing Thanksgiving meals since the creation of the organization in 1931.

For 93 years organizers and volunteers have been gathering to help their community.

The nonprofit prepared over two hundred meals with all the fixings.

One volunteer says he is thankful to have a community that comes together for one another and is proud to be a part of it.

“I’m just volunteering to help out the community. It’s been kind of a tradition for our family that we started maybe five to 10 years ago. We’ve been coming ever since. So, we’d like to get back to the community before we have our own meal,” said Paul Wilkinson, Volunteer at Bluefield Union Mission.

This long-standing tradition is one the Bluefield Union Mission plans to continue for many more years to come.
