During the latest episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! medics raced to assist during Tulisa’s Bushtucker trial, although the incident did not make the final broadcast. As Tulisa contended with Shock Around The Clock, a panic ensued when she believed a bug had entered her ear.
In her first solo attempt in the Australian jungle, Tulisa was swarmed by creepy crawlies. At one point, fearing a critter had burrowed into her ear, urgent medical assistance was required.
A show insider revealed that despite the drama, the moment was excised by producers from the aired episode. According to an informant speaking to The Sun: “Mid-way through the trial, the show medics rushed in to help. Tulisa was convinced something was in her ear – she wasn’t sure if it was a cockroach, cricket, or fly – and had to have a syringe wash. She carried on after that, but she was horrified.”
A spokesperson for ITV has since confirmed that a medic attended to Tulisa’s ear during the trial. They explained that Tulisa was given a syringe wash before continuing.
After receiving the most public votes, the 36-year-old N-Dubz star faced the Busktucker Trial. Before being briefed by Geordie hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, Tulisa pledged to give her all, reports the Mirror.
The presenting duo then explained that she would be fastened inside a container, symbolising a clock’s hand, spinning around as time ticked by.
To earn stars and, therefore, meals for the campmates, the singer was tasked with listing 12 items belonging to a specific category within one minute while being spun around and playing host to various insects.
During her trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Tulisa repeatedly urged the hosts, “Just get it over with!”
Despite the challenging ordeal, during which insects were dropped on her, she secured five out of the possible 12 stars, earning food for her campmates. Post-trial, Tulisa reflected on her blank state of mind, saying, “When I was in there, my brain just wouldn’t function; it just went blank. I was just trying to survive.”
During the task, she also had to apologise for not remembering the names of her campmates, including Coleen Rooney and Melvin Odoom.
Yet, viewers were less than impressed with her performance and also took issue with Ant and Dec’s assistance during the trial. In a segment involving the phonetic alphabet, Tulisa confessed her lack of knowledge, prompting Ant to hint, “When you get pulled over by the police…” and Dec to suggest, “Sport… when you use clubs and a ball.”
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on X, with one complaining, “Why are Ant and Dec trying to help Tulisa?” and another posting, “Who’s answering the questions in this trial Ant and Dec or Tulisa?”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV.
