Dumfries is hosting a qualifier for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship this weekend.
Nearly 30 teams from around the world will descend on the Ice Bowl to battle it out for four places at next year’s competition in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
There are four groups, with teams from as far afield as Chinese Taipei, India, Guyana and Jamaica, battling it out in the round-robin stage.

The top two teams from each group then go to the play-offs, with qualifying matches deciding who progress to April’s event to join the 16 rinks that have already booked their place, including Scotland, Norway and Sweden.
The round-robin action begins at 7.30pm on Sunday and continues until Thursday.
The qualifying sessions will take place on Friday and Saturday.
