Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has opened up about her regrets from her first pregnancy as she reveals that she’d like have a second baby.

Chatting on the Netmums podcast, the I’m A Celeb star admitted that she ‘questioned herself’ after delivering her daughter prematurely last Christmas: “I think I questioned what happened, I questioned myself a lot, because I still think about what I was doing.

“And it was not even what I was doing it was like why, why was I working out so many times, why was I working so actively, what was I trying to prove, what was the point?”

She added: “There was a little bit of self blame there, where you think, maybe if I’d just stayed at home and relaxed and just nested, maybe this would have not happened. Maybe if I had just not done that work out or that dance class, or maybe if I had just done things a little bit different.”

Despite her traumatic ordeal in the aftermath of her daughter’s birth, Oti said she is planning to have more children in the future: “I do want more children, because even if she’s shouting at me (her daughter) me now, or Chris. I want more children (and I think) how is this experience going to change the next experience?”

Earlier this week Oti opened up to her fellow campmates about the difficult period surrounding the birth of her daughter last Christmas.

Describing having to spend time with her daughter in a neonatal intensive care unit after her birth, she said: “It’s hell to be in the hospital, to hear those sounds, to not see your baby’s eyes for a week,”

“It’s hell to constantly look for advice from the doctors,” the Strictly professional dancer added.

Meanwhile, the professional dancer struggled to hold back tears as she told the camp: “Every night, you need to leave them, you need to leave your baby in someone else’s hands.”

Oti was one of the most popular names on Strictly Come Dancing after she became only the second professional dancer to secure back-to-back wins in the shows history, claiming the top prize in 2019 and 2020. Leaving the show in 2022, she joined Dancing on Ice as a judge later that year.
