TEMPLE, Texas — “Gotta catch ’em all!” That’s the Pokémon tagline, but it may just be the motto for Target consumers looking at Pokémon products as well.
Popular retailer Target offered discounts that ranged from 30 to 69 percent on Friday morning. Now, the majority of those items are out of stock or cannot be shipped until closer to Christmas less than 24 hours after prices were reduced.
Premium/Ex Boxes
Collectors and fans of the Pokémon The Card Game (TCG) would be pleased to see premium and ex boxes containing unique cards, collectibles and extra booster packs.
The “Charizard ex Premium Collection,” which usually costs $39.99, went down to $27.99 Friday morning. Target has since run out of stock and returned it to the original price.
Another item, the “Grand Adventure Collection,” saw a 30% discount. It was $13.29, but it is out of stock according to Target.com.
The “Ogerpon ex Premium Collection,” is also out of stock after being slashed by 30 percent.
The “Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex Box” and “Palafin ex Box” both saw a 30% price drop Friday morning. “Bloodmoon” went from $39.99 to $27.99 while “Palafin” went from $19.99 to $13.99.
Currently, they are out of stock and unavailable, respectively, on Target’s website.
Big Boxes
These boxes could feature promo cards, booster packs and extra items built for any level of Pokémon TCG player.
New products like the “Scarlet & Violet Build & Battle Stadiums” offer players a new look at competitive action while the Pokémon TCG Classic has a more traditional appeal.
The “Paldea Adventure Chest,” which regularly costs $49.99, experienced a 69% discount. The chest is currently unavailable.
routinely costing $199.99 was cut by 58%.
People did not hesitate to buy the “Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection” at $83.99. The item – typically costing about $200, is currently unavailable on Target’s website.
Assorted Collections & Boxes
The “Charizard ex Super Premium Collection” holds anything a fan of the fire-type Pokémon would want. It includes a foil promo Charizard ex card, 10 booster packs, a code for Pokémon TCG Live and a Charizard action figure.
Unfortunately for those interested, this collection is only available via shipping and may not arrive until closer to Christmas.
The item was marked down to $55.99 on Friday morning. It has returned to its original $79.99 price.
Pokémon TCG “Meddling Sparks Box” and “Paldea Friends Mini Tin 5-Pack” each experienced a 30% price drop.
While “Meddling Sparks Box” is currently unavailable, Target says consumers can buy the “Paldea” pack at its regular price of $49.99 and expect to receive it in late December.
